When Your Time No Longer Decides Your Income

They came to me with a business that worked. A real business, with an audience that loved them – shows selling hundreds of tickets, workshops people waited for. They did what they loved, and people loved them back.

But something had them stuck.

Every dollar they earned depended on physical presence. A show meant booking a venue, setting a date, hoping people would show up. A workshop – same thing. Then came COVID. Then war. Then another crisis. Every time the world stopped, their business stopped with it.

Beyond that, there was an invisible ceiling. There are only so many shows you can do in a month. Only so many seats in a room. Only so many hours in a day. And underneath all of it – the equation most business owners know all too well: more money equals more time. And more time doesn’t exist.

And not even talking about the burn out.

We sat together and I tried to show them what I saw.

They had something genuinely valuable – an audience that already believed in them. Thousands of people who had come to listen, who knew their approach, who had already taken the first step. That audience didn’t need convincing. It needed continuation.

The question I asked them was different: what if instead of selling people an event, you sold them a habit?

The model I proposed is what I call an Implementation Club. Not the most sexy phrase.

Not a membership program – because knowledge is not scarce. Google, YouTube, AI – ask any question and you will get ten answers in seconds.

What people struggle with is implementation. To make things really happen in their life.

The Implementation Club is built on one simple principle: a small step, every day, with someone keeping you on track. A short daily exercise. A brief weekly Zoom session. A community that sees you. And at the end of the month – you have not just learned something, you have actually done something.

And from the business side? No driving to a venue. No dependence on a specific date. No impact from lockdowns or conflict. A thousand subscribers paying a monthly fee – that is income that arrives every month, regardless of how many shows they did.

They are still at the beginning of this. But the moment I saw something land for them – it was when one of them said quietly: “So the money comes in every month even if we did not do anything extra?”

Not nothing. There is content. There is presence. There is the work of showing up.

But yes – not another show. Not another hall. Not another date to fill.

Sometimes the breakthrough is not in working harder. It is in changing the question.
